Daniel Maceira

Daniel Maceira is Argentine, Ph.D. in Economics Boston University, specializing in health economics and industrial organization.He is a full-time Professor and Director of the MBA at the University of San Andrés. Full Professor of the Chair of Industrial Organization, Faculty of Economic Sciences, University of Buenos Aires (UBA), Independent Researcher of the Research Career of the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET), Full Researcher of the Center for State Studies and Society (CEDES) and Director of the MBA in Health at the University of San Andrés.

Likewise, he participates as a teacher in the Master’s Degree in Public Policy at the Torcuato Di Tella University, in the Master’s Degree in Public Policy Management at FLACSO, and in postgraduate programs at several provincial universities in Argentina.

He has collaborated with a wide range of organizations, including Canada’s International Development Research Center (IDRC); UNICEF; the Gates Foundation; the World Health Organization (WHO); the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO); the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB); the World Bank; the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC); the United Nations Development Program (UNDP); the United States Agency for Development (USAID); the Inter-American Foundation (IAF); the Global Development Network; the Global Fund for AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis; Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI Alliance), among others.

He has numerous publications in national and international specialized journals, and has had extensive participation in numerous research projects and technical assistance programs in several developing countries, especially in Latin America and the Caribbean. Since 2016 he is a Member of the Board of Health Systems Global (HSG), the international society in health systems and services and holds the Chair of the Americas until October 2024.
